Worship Continues - JC and Giggle Celebration

All Saints Fishponds

Dear All Saints and St Marys Greetings – and I hope that this finds you well. It was such a privilege to lead worship and to share in Holy Communion with many last week – and for those who are still shielding I hope that the live stream was sufficient to feel at least a little connected to that worship.. Hopefully that will be something that we can continue in the future weeks and months and we will get used to the best place to angle the phones/mics to get the best sound we can. This Sunday we have our Junior Church and Giggle Celebration where we give thanks for the children of the parishes and also their leaders. It is such a  joy and a delight that we have this ministry and I know that we will all want to say a huge well done to our young people this year particular and the challenges that many of them have faced (as well as their parents). We also have a service of Evening Prayer at St Marys later on. Services on 26th July are

  • ALL SAINTS – 10.30AM – CELEBRATION SERVICE – LED BY REVD LIZZIE + LEADERS – OUTSIDE IF WE CAN  - Please bring a chair and or picnic blanket but we will provide some as well!

  • ST MARYS 6.30PM – EVENING PRAYER – LED BY SHARON GLEED

Also so that people can come and pray and also get used to the churches again in a way that might feel quieter then

  • All Saints will be open from 8am – 10.30am for private prayer

  • St Marys will open from 5pm – 6.30pm for private prayer

I am due to take holiday from then onwards and will see you all again for the 16th August. There will be a weekly email still which will be collated by ministry team members and sent out to Anita and Sue to distribute. There is no Zoom Coffee and Chat this week as the timing is tight after the service at 10.30 – but it would be good to receive your feedback as to whether this is an aspect of lockdown people would like to keep and then we can look at how to resume it and at what time now that the church is open for services.

We did have guidance this week for the wearing of face coverings and I attach the document that the Church of England has distributed. This is advice and please note that advise for people to wear face coverings, as well as those who are not required to. People are all in different circumstances and of different ages and health conditions and these impact on the advice.

Also attached is the Church at Home service from the diocese and

Sharon Gleeds homily for the Sunday Evening Service at St. Marys. Below is also the link to the Church of England service from Europe this week – focused on my favourite passage from Romans 8! – Enjoy!

With blessings for the next few weeks – I will pray for you all. Lizzie Revd Lizzie Kesteven Vicar of All Saints and St Marys Churches Fishponds 01179650856
