Greetings one and all,
Hope you've all had good weeks and have had a chance to enjoy some of the lovely sunshine we've been having! It's also been lovely to see Autumn beginning to show it's colours in the trees on my misty morning drives over to Bristol from Swindon.
We have two services in the benefice this Sunday:
10.30am - All Saints Harvest Festival Service of the Word (followed by Zoom Coffee & Chat at 11.45am - details below)
6.30pm - St Mary's a Service of Evening Prayer
The All Saints Harvest service is for all ages
So please encourage families and children to come along. It will be an interactive look at harvest in the context of the Season of Creation (see below). So if you can, please bring with you:
An item or two of non-perishable food for the harvest gift to the Food Bank (eg tins, packets etc)
A toy animal or a photo of a pet
A pen or pencil (some will be available in church, but if you can bring your own, it saves the risk of cross-contamination!)
Here are the Church@Home resources for the week,
as well as the selected readings for the All Saints Harvest service.
Season of Creation
The Season of Creation is a time for us to reflect on and renew our relationship with our Creator and all creation. You may spot some Prayer Stations in place in All Saints this week, which will be moved to St Mary's in due course to enable those coming during open times to learn, pray and reflect on different aspects of creation during this season. Feel free to have a look on Sunday! More info can be found here.
Covid News
There's no significant changes since last week's update. As ever, we are mindful of the need for social distancing and face coverings (unless exempt - e.g. children under 11 years old). For those of you who love details, the latest guidance from the Church of England (issued on 17th Sept) is available here.
On a personal note
Finally, I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to everyone for their prayers to find a house so I can move nearer to you all! I'm delighted to tell you that I have found somewhere and the Diocese will be signing the tenancy agreement this week with a view to my moving on Tuesday 29th September! I'm so looking forward to moving and to experiencing the joys of Fishponds as a 'local'!
Every blessing,
Janey
